Based on the ideals of Civic Diagnosis, Community Participation and Urban Design the Centre continues the tradition of multi-disciplinary grass-roots planning, developed over the last 50 years by the Max Lock Group both in the UK and overseas. |

Information on research projects under way at the centre. Many are funded by the UK Department for International Development. Areas of current research include; sustainable urban development, tools for managing rapid urbanisation, community asset management, research knowledge management and implementation of the Habitat Agenda. |
