JUMP, a 17 minute film
starring Mark Wingett from ‘Quadrophenia’ and ‘The
Bill’ was awarded the prize for Best Drama at the RTS Student
Television Awards at ITV’s London Centre, South Bank.
Two worlds collide when a character called
Oscar has a momentary lapse at the wheel of his car.
The film's Producer &
Screenwriter is James Hanford. It was directed
by James Nunn with James Fuller as DoP.
Course Director Peter Hort commented: “We felt
that last year’s films were exceptional creatively and technically,
and it’s a real boost for the course that the industry shares our
view.”
Malcolm Mowbray, Head of Film Directing added:
“JUMP is a film that engages with its audience, moves
them. And it does it with considerable command and assurance. There
is extensive filmmaking talent behind this film. You know this
when towards the end, a simple shot of the little girl waiting
for her brother has real emotional power.”
The film gala included
'Shahaada' (Director: Jenny Sadler. Super 16mm; 15
minutes) which was also short-listed in the drama category, meaning
that Westminster Film School secured two of the three nominations
in the drama category.
Our 'Hellman's' Commercial’
(Producer: Aneta Chalas; Director: Anna Bokova: writer:
Anne-Claire-Elwyn), an engaging combination of stop motion and live
action filming, has just been short-listed for the 2008
Kodak Student Commercial Award. The awards ceremony will
be at BAFTA on 6th March 2008.
