The term "transgendered" is often used to describe people who find that the gender they were assigned at birth is not one that fits with their gender identity. The term "transgendered" can include transsexual people, crossdressers and transvestites. Transgendered individuals are often grouped together with gays, lesbians and bisexuals under the incorrect assumption that sexual orientation is the common link.

These pages aim to explore the very specific issues transgendered students and graduates will face in developing their career and has been designed to help you improve your career planning, market yourself more effectively, tackle issues around disclosing your gender identity, identify supportive employers and handle possible discrimination.
