The proactive approach of our
students to enhancing their skills while at University and in
searching for graduate jobs means that they have secured great jobs
in a wide variety of areas. Click on the following subject areas
for case studies of successful Westminster students within these
areas

We also hold details of what other graduates did when they left
the University via our DLHE survey results
What is DLHE?
The annual Destinations of Leavers
from Higher Education Survey - DLHE is conducted
by Career Development Centre on behalf of the University.
The DLHE survey collects data on the
work and further study status of all UK and EU
domiciled graduates (full-time and part-time) 6 months
after they complete a course of study.
The results are submitted to HESA (Higher Education Statistics
Agency) each year and form the basis for national statistical
indicators/league tables. The information provided by graduates is
also useful to advise current students about the opportunities that
might be available to them.
How do we conduct the
survey?
The DLHE survey is conducted every year in
accordance with data collection methods prescribed by HESA. The
survey is administered using a multi-method approach comprising
three main methods of data collection:
- Postal questionnaire
- Online questionnaire (hosted by HESA)
- Telephone questionnaire (administered using a
telephone call centre in the Career Development Centre)
Universities are required by HESA to carry out
the survey at two census points during the academic year: April and
January.
HESA requires that Universities achieve the
following minimum response rate requirements:
- EU graduates: 50%
- Home full-time graduates:
80%
- Home part-time graduates:
70%
What happens to the information
collected?
The University will hold DLHE survey results
on manual and electronic file, subject to the 1998 Data Protection
Act. Anonymous reports/statistics are also accessible to academics
and course administrators around the University.
As mentioned, the Career Development Centre
will also send the final DLHE results to HESA. HESA will take
precautions to ensure that individuals are not identified from the
anonymised data which they process. Under the Data Protection Act,
individuals have rights of access to the data HESA holds about
them. For further information about the HESA record please see
