COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

1.  Description of Services

 

The Volunteering service which is part of the Career Development Centre within the University is engaged in brokering suitable volunteering opportunities for students of the University of Westminster. We do this by working in partnership with relevant third sector organisations in the UK. This is a brief statement of service and the accompanying terms and conditions.

 

By joining us you will have access to a potential pool of over 22000 students and the use of a new vacancy and events management system, ProspectsNet, that will allow you to monitor traffic to your vacancy, provide you access to the daily labour market news, bulletins, reports and the latest developments in graduate recruitment.

 

2.  Acceptance of Terms

 

By agreeing to the following terms and conditions, you, as a partner organisation, are agreeing to engage with us in providing ‘suitable volunteering opportunities’ for students and staff of the University of Westminster.

 

3.  Conditions to access the service

 

To fully access the services you will need to meet the following conditions:

 

3.1. That you are a UK registered charity

3.2. Are able to post vacancies with a clear, complete, and current description of the duties and responsibilities

3.3. You agree to only involve volunteers to complement and supplement the work of paid staff and not be used to replace paid staff or undercut their pay and conditions of service

3.4. Are able to post vacancies that have the potential of equipping the volunteer with graduate level skills

3.5. You will issue a formal acceptance letter or email to which we are copied when you have made a decision on appointing a student volunteer

3.6. You agree to show the volunteer around during their first visit and introducing them to other volunteers/relevant staff members

3.7. Where applicable, you agree to provide the volunteer with any specific training to perform their volunteer assignment

3.8. You are able to assign a clearly identified supervisor who is responsible for the direct management of the volunteer

3.9. You are able to set performance standards with a clear list of task to be actioned with measurable indicators and appropriate timelines for accomplishment of the tasks

3.10. You have an up-to-date equal opportunities policy

3.11. You have an insurance policy that also covers the volunteer

3.12. You have a health and safety policy

3.13. Where applicable to give the volunteer enough training on how to use relevant equipment/s

3.14. You have appropriate procedures in place for dealing with volunteers concerns and grievances

3.15. You agree to reimburse any out of pocket expenses (such as travel & lunch) of the volunteer

3.16. You are responsible for updating your data on our system and letting us know of changes when they occur

3.17. You agree to carry out an end-of-placement performance evaluation and provide feedback both to the volunteer and the University.

3.18. We reserve the right to withdraw our support for any vacancy that does not meet the above criteria
