Halls of Residence
International Students attending full-length courses whose student housing applications are
received by 1st May
(for a September start) are normally guaranteed a place in the hall of residence for the first year of study. However, if you miss the deadline, you should still apply as soon as you are offered a place on the course, as your application will still be prioritised.
Some of our halls are very well located in the heart of London's thriving West End, close to the theatre district, the main shopping area and also to some of London's famous Royal Parks, whilst others are located in quieter more residential areas.
For further information and details of the location and costs for all of the University's own residences, please visit the Housing Office's
Halls of Residence
web pages.
Halls include...
The halls offer basic hostel style accommodation with:
single rooms (some with en-suite shower room)
laundry facilities
shared kitchens providing cookers, microwaves, fridge freezers and storage cupboards
washbasins in the study bedrooms (except Marylebone)
shared bathrooms (except Harrow). Limited single sex accommodation is available but, in most halls, men and women share bathrooms.
daytime receptionist and a security guard at night.
located in well-lit areas
a maximum of half an hours travelling time from the main campuses by public transport.
You will need to provide your own bedding, cutlery and crockery (this can be bought cheaply locally). See the section
Preparing to come to the UK
for some helpful tips!
For students studying at the Harrow Campus, there is a hall on campus. The Harrow Hall has en-suite showers and some double and twin bedrooms are available.
Privately Rented Accommodation
Many international students choose to live in privately rented accommodation. Privately rented accommodation is plentiful in London, but the search for the right place will probably take you several days. For further information on privately rented accommodation, please visit the Housing Office's
Private Accommodation
web pages.
The University provides free help and advice. The
University's Student Housing Service
has an office based at the Marylebone Halls (for help with housing for students studying at the central London campus), and also an office at our Harrow halls (for students studying at the Harrow campus).
