Appointments
All new staff, appointed since the
implementation of the New Offer on 1st August 2009, who are
appointed with a commencement date between 1 February and 31 July
inclusive, will not normally receive an
increment on their respective scales until 1 August the following
year.
Promotions
Please note that the above process also applies to existing
staff promoted internally to higher grades. Staff who
are promoted with a commencement date between 1 February and
31 July inclusive, will not normally receive
an increment on their respective scales until 1 August the
following year, or 1st September for those staff who have opted out
of the new offer.
Increments are only applied
subject to satisfactory and continuous service and notwithstanding
the foregoing, if a line manager is of the view that an increment
should not be applied, they should contact their local HR
Manager to discuss the matter. In these cases, any problems should
already have been highlighted through probation reports for new
staff, or as part of any formal process such as disciplinary
procedures.
