At a meeting between Natfhe and management on 24 May 2002 it was agreed that the university would continue with allocation of 900 hours time for trade union duties for Natfhe. Both sides reaffirmed the 1998 Joint Statement agreed at ACAS, in particular the following clause:
 
"It is recognised that in certain circumstances events will occur which will necessitate emergency meetings. However in general meetings will be scheduled during term time".
 
Accordingly Natfhe will use their best endeavours to adhere to the spirit of this clause.
 
This agreement terminates the dispute over time for trade union duties.
