APPOINTMENTS – NON ACADEMIC HEADS LEVEL

- Remuneration: Fixed non-incremental salary. Salary is reviewed
at 1st August annually.
- Salary: Paid monthly on 22nd by B.A.C.S. transfer to
bank accounts.
- Annual leave: Entitlement 35 working days plus 8 statutory
public holidays and excluding extended Christmas Closure.
Annual leave may be restricted at certain times of the year due to
operational requirements. This would be subject to local
confirmation.
- The appointed candidate will be on a professional contract, but
the normal working hours per week will be 35 for a full-time post.
Actual times of attendance to be arranged by the line manager.
- The University operates an annual Appraisal scheme for its
entire staff.
- The University retirement age for all staff is 65.
- London Government Pension scheme -

administrators of the scheme at http://www.lpfa.org.uk. Scheme rules
may be amended from time to time.
- Life cover: The Local Government Pension Scheme provides for
three x the annual salary to dependants in the event of your death
in service. Furthermore, the University has arranged an
enhanced life cover policy, to pay out another twice x annual
salary to dependants in the event of your death in service, making
a total of five x annual salary for a Pension Scheme member.
Nomination forms are available directly from the relevant pension
scheme.
- Season Ticket Loan: Interest free loan for the purchase of
annual season ticket repayable by 11 monthly deductions from
salary.
- Health Care: The University offers a choice of Healthcare
schemes with discounted rates of contribution.
- Car parking: At our Harrow Campus site only (subject to
availability). A charge may be levied for use of
facilities.
- Recreational facilities: Fully equipped fitness centre -
staff discount rates.
- The University of Westminster operates a No Smoking Policy in
all of its buildings.
- Care-4 is an electronic childcare voucher scheme that enables
working parents to save on their childcare costs. Working parents
join the scheme by agreeing to sacrifice a portion of their basic
contractual salary in return for an equivalent childcare benefit.
