Please read the details of the
individual scholarships carefully to ascertain whether you're
eligible for the scholarship. Applications sent in for scholarships
you're not eligible for will not be considered. You can apply for
more than one scholarship on the same form. Alternatively, you
could simply tell us what level of funding you require, and we
could match the appropriate scholarship to you. Please only do this
if you're eligible for more than one scholarship.
The deadline for all postgraduate
scholarship applications is 31 May 2008, unless otherwise

Full scholarships
Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)
scholarships
These scholarships are jointly funded by the ACU, the Foreign
and Commonwealth Office, the University of Westminster and
International Students House. They are available to you if you are
a member of staff of the ACU member institutions in developing
countries looking to study a full-time Masters in Human Resource
Management or Public Communication and Public Relations.

Capacity building scholarships
The University offers capacity building scholarships to upgrade
your skills if you are a faculty member of one of our partner
colleges at home or overseas. The value of the scholarship varies
depending on need. Please contact the Scholarships Office for full
details if you fall into this category.

- Eligibility: You must be a faculty member of one of our partner
institutions and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree.

Central American and the Caribbean
scholarships
These scholarships are awarded jointly with International
Students House and are open to you if you are a Central American or
Caribbean national wishing to study a subject useful to the
development of the region and intending to return to your country
on completion of the course.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation at
International Students House, living expenses and flights to and
from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from Central America, Mexico or the
Caribbean and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree at the
University.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and
financial need.
Commonwealth Broadcasting Association - Chevening
scholarship
This scholarship is offered in conjunction with the Commonwealth
Broadcasting Association (CBA), the University of Westminster,
International Students House and the Foreign and Commonwealth
Office.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation at International
Students House, living expenses and flights to and from
London.
- Eligibility: You must be a member of the administrative and
production staff currently employed by CBA member institutions in
developing Commonwealth countries, wishing to develop your skills
in media, public relations or marketing through an appropriate
full-time Masters degree.

Cuba scholarships
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living
expenses and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from Cuba and hold an offer for a
full-time Masters degree at the University.

MSc Digital Enterprise Management
scholarship
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be an international student from a
developing country and hold an offer for the full-time MSc Digital
Enterprise Management at the University.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and
financial need.
Disaster regeneration scholarship
This scholarship is open to you if you are an international
student from a developing country/region affected by a recent
natural or man-made disaster. The intention of this scholarship is
to aid in the regeneration of the affected country/region and you
must make the case for how your chosen course will do this.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be an international student from a
disaster struck developing country or region and hold an offer for
a full-time Masters degree. You must intend to return home on
completion of the course.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and
financial need.
EU newly acceded and candidate countries
scholarship
The scholarship is awarded jointly with International Students
House.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation at International
Students House, living expenses and flights to and from
London.
- Eligibility: You must be from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former
Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania or Turkey and hold an offer
for any full-time Masters degree.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and
financial need.
MA Fashion Business Management scholarship
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be an international student and hold an
offer for the full-time MA Fashion Business Management.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and
financial need.
Geoffrey Copland scholarship
Dr Geoffrey Copland retired as the Vice-Chancellor in July 2007,
and this scholarship is named for him in recognition of his
unfailing support for the scholarships programme.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be an international student from a
developing country and hold an offer for a full-time Masters
degree.

Geoff Marsh
scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Geoff Marsh, a visiting
professor at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment.
The funds for the living costs for the scholar have been raised by
friends and colleagues of Geoff Marsh.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living
expenses, flights to and from London and a one year work placement
at Investment Property Databank on successful completion of your
course.
- Eligibility: You must be from India and hold an offer for a
full-time Masters degree within the School of Architecture and the
Built Environment.

MA Globalisation, Development and Transition
scholarship
This scholarship is awarded jointly with International Students
House.

These scholarships are awarded jointly with International

LLM International Commercial Law
scholarship
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from one of the Eastern European
accession countries or the former Soviet Union states and hold an
offer for the full-time LLM International Commercial Law.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and

MBI Al Jaber Foundation
scholarships
The MBI Al Jaber Foundation offers
scholarships to students from across the Arab world wishing to
study for a full-time Masters degree at its partner institutions,
including the University of Westminster. The scholarship programme
is open to you if you are an Arab resident of the Middle East and
North Africa who intends to return to your country of residence and
contribute to its future development.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation expenses at the
rate of the University's halls of residences, living expenses and
flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from the Middle East and hold an offer
for a full-time Masters degree.
- Criteria: You need to show the intention to return to your
region after the period of study. Priority is given to you if you
have not previously studied in Europe or the USA.

Media, Arts and Design scholarship
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.

Palestinian European Academic Cooperation in Education
(PEACE) scholarships
These scholarships are jointly awarded with International

- Eligibility: You must be from Palestine and hold an offer for
any full-time Masters degree at the University.

Quintin Hogg scholarships
These generous awards funded by the Quintin Hogg Trust are aimed
at fully funding you if you are from a developing country and wish
to study a full-time Masters degree at the University. Particular
preference will be given to you if you can demonstrate how the
knowledge you acquire from your studies will aid the development of
your own country.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living
expenses, flights to and from London and a pre-session course in
English (where needed).
- Eligibility: You must be an international student from a
developing country and hold an offer for a full-time Masters
degree.

Suriname/Guyana scholarship

Our most prestigious award, this scholarship is funded by the
Vice-Chancellor's Office and is aimed at fully funding a student

Westminster Business School
scholarships
These six scholarships are
offered by Westminster Business School to you if you are
academically exceptional.

Partial fee waiver scholarships
Alumni scholarships
These scholarships are gathered from income earned by the alumni
affinity services. They are available to you if you are a graduate
of any University of Westminster undergraduate degree and plan to
proceed to a full-time Masters degree within the University.
- Amount: £2,000 tuition fee waivers.
- Eligibility: You must be a University of Westminster graduate
progressing to a full-time Masters degree at the University.

David Faddy scholarships
These scholarships have been established in the memory of David
Faddy, former Head of the School of Communications, and generously
funded by Richard Jenkins and Maureen Amar.
- Amount: £2,500 tuition fee waivers.

Photojournalism or MA Photographic Studies.

All proposals for admission must be

Registrar's Department by Friday 14 March 2008.

Biosciences/Biotechnology
research scholarship
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, available over three years
subject to satisfactory academic progress.
- Eligibility: You must be from a developing country and plan to
study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) in
biosciences or biotechnology at Cavendish.

Cavendish research scholarships
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, available over three years
subject to satisfactory academic progress.
- Eligibility: You must be from a developing country and plan to
study a postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) at
Cavendish.

Cavendish research scholarship (India)
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, available over three years
subject to satisfactory academic progress.
- Eligibility: You must be from India and plan to study a
postgraduate research programme (MPhil or PhD) at the Cavendish
site.

financial need.
Quintin Hogg PhD scholarships
These generous awards are funded by the Quintin Hogg Trust and
are aimed at fully funding you if you are taking a PhD and are from
the UK or from a developing country. You must wish to pursue
research at the University, live close by and, if necessary,
improve your English prior to your studies.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living
expenses and flights to and from London (where applicable).
- Eligibility: You must be planning to pursue your PhD at the
University. Preference will be given to you if you are pursuing a
PhD in areas not covered by other scholarships.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and

English as a Foreign
Language scholarships for Cubans
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living
expenses and flights to and from London for one
month.
- Eligibility: You must be a lecturer from the University of
Havana Medical Schools.
- Criteria: Scholarships are available for July or August
2008.
English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
scholarships
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers for full-time English as a
Foreign Language courses.
- Eligibility: Open to you if you need English language training.
Preference is given to you if you are from a country outside
Western Europe. This is also open to asylum-seekers, refugees or
Eastern European nationals currently living in the UK who need to
improve their English language skills.
- Criteria: Financial need.
- Deadline: Open throughout the academic year.
- How to apply: Write a letter stating why you want to study an
English as a Foreign Language course and why you need financial
help. Please send this letter with your application to the English

Graduate Diploma in Architecture
scholarship
This scholarship has been generously sponsored by the Tooley and
Foster Partnership, one of the UK’s longest established
architectural practices.
- Amount: £2,000 per annum for two years, subject to satisfactory
academic progress. If you are the selected student you will be
given first refusal on a post in the Tooley and Foster Partnership
practice. This will be in the summer at the end of your first year
of the diploma and once you have graduated. There is no compulsion
for you to take it up should you not wish to.
- Eligibility: You must have been accepted for full-time study
onto the Graduate Diploma in Architecture course and have confirmed
with the Admissions Office that you have accepted their offer of a
place.
- Criteria: You will be evaluated based on your personal
statement, aspirations in the field of architecture, academic
excellence and engagement with the values and needs of the Tooley
and Foster Partnership.
- Application: You are required to submit an application package
which consists of the following items:
- a transcript of results from your first degree
- one reference from your previous academic institution and
one from your year out employer
- a short statement (maximum 1000 words) setting out your
general interest in the Graduate Diploma and your aspirations in
the field of architecture, plus outlining your case for financial
need.
- a small A4 brochure (maximum 10 pages) showing examples of
your design work, either from your first degree or from your
year-out.
- Deadline: 31 May 2008.
Short course-
'Nutrition in Emergencies'
Scholarships are available for the
short course 'Nutrition in Emergencies', which will run from 1-5
September 2008.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses
and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from a developing country.
- Criteria: Financial need and to be employed in the relevant
sector in a country prone to disaster.
- Deadline: 15 August 2008.
Study abroad scholarships
These scholarships are available to you if you are an
undergraduate student wishing to add to your experience by studying
in London for at least a semester.
The deadline for all study abroad scholarships is 1 May
2008.

- Amount: Two scholarships awarding full tuition and registration
fee waiver for one semester of undergraduate module study (Fall

reputable Brazilian institution, who has completed at least one
year of undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years old.

Japan study abroad scholarships
- Amount: Two scholarships awarding 50% tuition and registration
fee waivers for one semester of undergraduate module study (Fall
semester only).
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from a
reputable Japanese institution, who has completed at least one year
of undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
Korea study abroad scholarship
- Amount: One scholarship awarding full tuition and registration
fee waiver for one semester of undergraduate module study (Fall
semester only).
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from a
reputable Korean institution, who has completed at least one year
of undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
Mexico study abroad scholarships
- MUSAC Consortium
- Amount: Three scholarships awarding full tuition and
registration fee waiver for one academic year of undergraduate
module study or six scholarships awarding a full tuition and
registration fee waiver for one semester of undergraduate module
study.
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from
MUSAC member institutions, who has completed at least one year of
undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
- Tec De Monterrey, Campus Ciudad de Mexico
- Amount: One scholarship awarding full tuition and registration
fee waiver for one semester of study (Fall semester only).
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from
Tec de Monterrey - Campus Ciudad de Mexico, who has completed at
least one year of undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years
old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
- Universidad Panamericana - Mexico City Campus
- Amount: Two scholarships awarding 50% tuition and registration
fee waivers for one semester of study (Fall semester only).
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from
Universidad Panamericana - Mexico City Campus, who has completed at
least one year of undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years
old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
USA study abroad scholarship
Priority for this scholarship will be given to you if you are a
member of an
under-represented group in university education.
- Amount: One scholarship awarding full tuition and registration
fee waiver for one semester of undergraduate module study (Fall
semester only).
- Eligibility: You must be a current undergraduate student from a
reputable US institution, who has completed at least one year of
undergraduate study and who is at least 20 years old.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, financial need and development
potential.
