Bill teaches marketing management, operations management and
design management, at the University of Westminster and
elsewhere.
Bill worked for twenty years in industry, for three years of
that as Design Director of a multinational manufacturing
organisation. He then undertook doctoral research in Design
Management at Strathclyde University. He has worked in twenty
countries, has written five books and over 100 other
publications. His latest book is ‘Managing Service
Operations. Design and Implementation’ (co-author Sadie
Shinkins).
Bill undertakes management consultancy for Direction Consultants
that he started with his wife in 1985. His specialist area is
Service Design Management where he is the acknowledged world
authority. He also maintains the Knowledge Based website on
Service Design for The Design Council.
